Gene taped Country Family Reunion on Tuesday, Jan. 22 and Wednesday, Jan. 23. This program will be released in the spring 2008 on DVD format by Gabriel Communications. You can find out more on how to get this project at cfrc.com.
Gene sang "Memories To Burn" and "Farewell Party". Gene's peers gave him a standing ovation and later in the program, Larry Gatlin requested that Gene join him on an impromptu performance of "Bitter They Are, Harder They Fall". Gene recorded this Larry Gatlin penned song on his Because You Believed In Me album (Capitol Records/1976). Gene told Larry Gatlin that the label asked him to pick any one song he'd like to cover for that album and Gene hands down picked this song.
